The World's First Hard Rock Slurry Balance Pipe-Jacking Shield Machine Rolls off Production Line

On January 11, 'CREC 1268', the world's first hard rock slurry balance pipe-jacking shield machine jointly developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) under CRHIC, Changsha Water Group, China Construction Fifth Group and Anhui Yuanzu Construction Co., Ltd., rolled off production line at CREG Nanchang Base. With excavation diameter of 3.68 meters, the machine innovatively adopted the design concept of 'pipe jacking + shield', which can effectively cater for the special requirements of trenchless, small-diameter, long-distance and curve jacking in the construction of urban underground pipe network.

In view of the project's special working conditions (ultra-long distance tunneling and ultra-hard rock strata) that cannot be addressed by traditional pipe-jacking, CREG and other parties involved in the construction innovatively developed 'CREC 1268'. With the aid of ultra-hard rock composite cutting wheel and the construction mode of 'pipe-jacking followed by shield tunneling', the machine has effectively solved various construction problems and guaranteed the stability of efficient tunneling. It has important implications for improving the mechanized construction of urban underground pipe network.

The World's Largest Span Cable-Stayed Bridge with Twin Towers, Single Column and Centrally-Parallel Cable Plane Is Completed

On January 9, Luzhou Baisha Yangtze River Bridge was completed, marking the formal completion of the bridge's main works. China Railway Jiujiang Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. affiliated to CRHIC participated the bridge construction. Luzhou Baisha Yangtze River Bridge is 1,321.7 meters long and 27.5 meters wide. The main bridge is a double-tower single-column centrally-parallel cable-plane hybrid girder cable-stayed one with main span of 520 meters. The main span is currently the world's longest of its kind. China Railway Jiujiang Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. mainly undertakes manufacturing and transportation of 9,100 tons of steel box girders across 35 girder sections, as well as bridge welding work.
