On November 13, 2017, the State Intellectual Property Office issued a notice, in which the outcome for reviewing the 19th China Patent Award was publicized. According to "China Patent Award Selection", 20 of China Patent Gold Pre-Awards, 5 China Golden Design Pre-Awards, 804 China Excellent Patent Pre-Awards, and 68 China Excellent Design Pre-Awards were selected for the 19th China Patent Awards. "Method of controlling curve profile of bridge steel column" invented by our member enterprise China Railway Baoji Bridge Group and "Resonance crusher" invented by China Railway Science & Industry Group the two patents were shortlisted for the 19th China Excellent Patent Pre-Awards.

Method of controlling curve profile of bridge steel column invented by China Railway Baoji Bridge Group included the curve profiling method when the sheet units were produced and the tooling control measures to be adopted during assembling, which guaranteed the curve profile of steel tower sections. By using the invention and adopting necessary steel tower part curve profiling technique and welding deformation control technology, we successfully accomplished the manufacturing tasks for the first cable-stayed bridge in the world (the Third Nanjing Yangtze Bridge), accumulating abundant experiences for the construction of curve steel towers.
