On February 12, the last segment of the arch rib was accurately hoisted in place, marking the successful closure of Science and Technology City Fujiang Bridge in Mianyang, Sichuan Province. On February 7, TBM 'Jishi No.1' (CREC 1250) developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) under CRHIC rolled off production line in Zhengzhou. With excavation diameter of 8.33 meters, the EPB shield machine is the first TBM applied to the metro line. CREG's project team has innovatively designed and carefully manufactured the equipment based on the engineering geology, thus the machine can effectively handle clogging and such complex geological conditions as confined water formation, long distance fine sand, medium gravel layer and round gravel layer.
