Mawan Cross-Sea Passage is the largest cross-sea TBM tunnel in China and the first subsea tunnel in Shenzhen. In the morning of July 15th, mawan, a 15.53m diameter super-large diameter slurry balance shield machine jointly developed by CREG and CRTG, was successfully launched.
The TBM section of Mawan Cross-Sea Passage Project is 2,063 meters long. As the key control link of the project, the on-site assembly of 'Mawan' is of great importance. China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. started assembly on April 7, 2021, and completed the work of setting tool head into shaft on May 11 through concentric peer work and sincere cooperation with the project department.
'Mawan' TBM will cross the complex seabed terrain full of uneven rock strata and full-section hard rock. The subsea tunnel is located at a depth of more than 40 meters underwater, with high water pressure and rock strength, setting high requirements for equipment performance and construction technology.
