Eco-friendly assembled U-shaped shield pipe erecting machine for utility tunnel launches in Xiong'an New Area

Led by the Xiong'an New Area regional headquarters of CREC, 'Xiong'an', the world's first eco-friendly assembled U-shaped shield pipe erecting machine for utility tunnel jointly developed by China Railway First Group Co., Ltd., China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Science and Industry Group Co., Ltd. affiliated to CRHIC, successfully launched on March 2. The machine is suitable for the construction of utility tunnels with long segment and variable cross-section. It has functions of precise tunnel assembly, automatic cushion paving and synchronous side seam green filling. Based on the successful application experience of U-shaped shield in underground tunnel, the machine connotatively combines shield and pipe erection to realize integrated and efficient utility tunnel construction of transportation, excavation, support, excavation, erection and side seam filling. It is expected to help shorten the construction period by more than 20% and reduce labor by 80%. It also has advantages in green and environment-friendly technologies, which will cut down carbon emissions by 75%.
