According to the recent news from the construction site, the diversion inclined shaft project of Henan Luoning Pumped Storage Power Station built by State Grid Xin Yuan Company Limited has been successfully advanced by 240m, adopting China's first large dip angle (at least 39 degrees) inclined shaft TBM 'Yongning' (CREC 1158) jointly developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) under CRHIC. It marks that 26.3% of the total mileage of the No.1 diversion inclined shaft has been completed, and a new mode of whole-section mechanized excavation of inclined shaft in China has been created. With a total installed capacity of 1.4 million KW, the project is the first to integrate diversion upper inclined shaft, middle flat opening and lower inclined shaft into the first level inclined shaft, opening a new way of constructing shafts for pumped storage power station projects in China.
The inclined shaft TBM 'Yongning' has an excavation diameter of 7.23m. The No. 1 and No. 2 diversion inclined shafts used for construction are 927m and 873m respectively, with dip angle being 36.236°and 38.742°separately. The route to be excavated, with a buried depth of 184-684m, crosses two fault fracture zones.
