On May 16th, the 2nd Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) is held in Chongqing International Expo Center. The earth pressure balance TBM, rectangular TBM, medium-speed maglev train and other high-end equipment of CRHIC become the most dynamic technological element at WCIFIT. On an exhibition area of about 500 square meters, China Railway Group Limited (CREC) well shows off its leading position in realizing the travel dream of mankind from the aspects of infrastructure construction, survey and design consulting, equipment manufacturing and financial investment, by centering on the Belt and Road and the the western development strategy.

This is the second time for CRHIC to attend WCIFIT since 2018. As a major force of infrastructure construction in Chongqing, CRHIC has participated in Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge, Caiyuanba Yangtze River Bridge, Qiansimen-Dongshuimen Bridge and other key projects, drawing a number of beautiful “rainbows above water”. Since 2010, CRHIC has invested a total of 21 TBMs for rail transit construction in Chongqing, among which nine TBMs developed from 2010 to 2012 have all been used in the construction of Chongqing Subway Line 6, the core traffic artery of Liangjiang New Area.

In addition, the turnouts and supports used in Chongqing straddle track monorail, as well as girder erecting equipment, are also provided by CRHIC. CRHIC’s special equipment such as wet spray trolley and cantilever tunneling machine are respectively applied in Tiantai Mountain Tunnel Project and Zengjiayan Tunnel Project in Chongqing to facilitate the smooth completion of these tunnels.

In the future, CRHIC will have a deep involvement in the construction of urban rail transit, railway, municipal road and bridge projects, utility tunnel, sponge city and other major infrastructure projects in Chongqing by giving full play to its advantages in equipment, technology and talent, contributing its industrial strength to building a beautiful Chongqing.

Under the theme of “opening a new era and making a new progress”, the WCIFIT takes Hungary and Uruguay as the guest country of honor and Sichuan, Guizhou and Shaanxi as the guest province of honor. Covering a total exhibition area about 110,000 square meters, the WCIFIT consists of eight theme exhibition areas, including charming western cooperation exhibition area, international cooperation exhibition area, new land-sea corridor cooperation exhibition area, free trade zone exhibition area, regional cooperation exhibition area, multinational companies exhibition area, central enterprises and state-owned enterprises exhibition area and well-known private enterprises exhibition area. According to the preliminary statistics of the executive committee, the WCIFIT is expected to receive 300 fortune global 500 companies from 57 countries and regions, over 2,000 multinational companies and 22,000 Chinese and foreign guests. A number of foreign dignitaries (former dignitaries) and more than 40 senior officials at or above the deputy ministerial level will also gather in Chongqing to jointly open a new chapter of western development and together create a better future for the Belt and Road.
