On January 18, 2022, the world's first integrated pile and girder bridge-erecting crane 'Gonggong', which is developed by CRHIC subsidiary company Poly Changda Engineering, was successfully rolled off the assembly line and launched to the construction of the Shenzhen-Shantou West Expressway Expansion Project. The equipment will realize the bridge construction completely assembled construction, and promote the world bridge construction process ushered in a major change.
Compared with the traditional process, the 'Gonggong' bridge-erecting crane overturns the practice of cast-in-place bridge infrastructure, breaks the situation that the underline construction must rely on the construction of the right-of-way or trestle bridge, to realize the pilot hole, piling, girder erection, assembling a full set of 'aerial' operations, no requiring of neither land acquisition and demolition nor any other lifting equipment to assist construction. It can be widely used in areas such as mudflats, shallow water areas and urban areas where traditional equipment cannot be applied to.
The 'Gonggong' is 92 metres in full length, with a deadweight of 575 tonnes, an effective span of 48 metres and a cantilevered heavy-duty operation of 16 metres. It is adopted with a double truss main girder structure with five outriggers, three overhead cranes and a piling device.
