On October 26, the unveiling ceremony of CREC-Guineng Intelligent Mine Research Institute & the off-line ceremony of hard rock TBM CREC 1200 was held in Liupanshui High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Guizhou Province. CREC 1200 ('Liangdu') will be used in the construction of auxiliary adit and haulage gateway in bed plate tunnel of Juxin Coal Mine in Guizhou Province, becoming a new useful tool in coal mine tunnel construction.

Given the engineering difficulties in the southwest gas control roadway such as short tunneling distance, frequent redeployment, fast and complex geological changes, and exploration must be made whenever tunneling is required, China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. under CRHIC has tailored TBM CREC 1200 ('Liangdu') after summing up the pains of TBM application in coal mines. With excavation diameter of 4.53 meters and overall length of only 35 meters, the machine features such advantages of short length, flexibility and convenient redeployment. It is innovatively equipped with a series of new technologies such as hydraulic drive system, openable cutting wheel, intelligent roof bolter system and new bottom muck removal device, which further enhances the pertinence and adaptability of TBM application in gas control roadway, and guarantees safe and efficient roadway construction.
