On April 28, 2023, the last section of steel box girder of the Lingdingyang Bridge, the world's largest-span offshore suspension bridge, is successfully hoisted and connected, making the completion of the Lingdingyang Bridge as part of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is a rare super cross-sea channel cluster project in the world that integrates such functions as underwater steel shell immersed tube tunnel, super large-span bridge in the sea, deep water artificial island and underwater hub interconnection. The main project has a total length of 24.03km, including a bridge project of 17km, which is an important river crossing channel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Lingdingyang Bridge built with the participation from China Railway Baoji Bridge Group Co., Ltd. is one of the key control projects, with a main span of 1,666m, a main tower height of 270m, which is equivalent to a building height of 90 storeys, and a navigable clearance height of 76.5m. It is the largest-span offshore suspension bridge in the world.
