On the site of Xingguo permanent magnetic levitation technology engineering test line project in Jiangxi, the red-and-white “Xingguo” maglev train, China's first permanent maglev air rail test line vehicle, is moving into the dynamic commissioning stage. It is expected to officially enter the experimental stage of opening to traffic in July 2022.
Xingguo permanent maglev technology engineering test line is a finished project that is transformed from scientific research achievements of permanent magnetic levitation technology. It is a key project in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, and the industry's first such project. The pilot line is an 800-meter-long elevated track. It is a new rail transit system that integrates suspension, guidance, driving and communication. It adopts a single track, with a double track reserved for future operation.
CRHIC has contributed a package of comprehensive solutions for the project, and undertaken the research and development of vehicles, turnouts, track beams, as well as the civil construction along the track. Now in China, air rail projects under construction all use wheeled air rail trains. Compared with the traditional wheeled air rail trains, permanent maglev trains do not rely on rubber wheels. Instead, the permanent magnets repel the tracks to keep the train suspended at the center line of guideway and the electromagnetic guidance allows for zero friction operation. Thus, the train can operate solely by motor drive, and has energy-saving and environmentally-friendly attributes, non-contact traction system, strong climbing ability, smaller turning radius and low noise.
