On April 19, 2023, the ultra-large longitudinal axis boom-type roadheader CTR450 independently developed by China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) under CRHIC rolled off the production line in Xinxiang, Henan Province. This equipment will soon be used in the construction of the Daegu Municipal Underpass Tunnel Project in South Korea.
The CTR450 boom-type roadheader is 21 meters long, 4.1 meters wide and 5.1 meters high, with a cutting power of 450/350 kilowatts, a single positioning cutting range of 9.3*8.2 meters, a de-dusting air volume of 1,500 cubic meters per minute and a total weight of 188 tons. The product is uniquely designed with a telescopic cutting arm with a maximum elongation of 1.2 meters, enlarging the cutting area by 20%. The design team of China Railway Engineering Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) has conducted a series of targeted designs to improve the cutting efficiency and lower the consumption rate of cutting picks, and has solved the technical problem of the contradiction between low temperature start-up and high temperature heat dissipation of the equipment. The technical team also developed the cab with patented technology, which greatly improves the construction safety. CTR450 is a 'powerful weapon' for tunnel construction, and is applicable to single-track, double-track, double-arch tunnels (channels) and underground tunnels of different sizes and types, in railways, highways, subways, water conservancy projects, municipal projects and mines.
